The problem this solves
A VOD catalogue that cannot be searched or recommended is a catalogue that cannot be monetised. Viewers do not browse - they search, or they accept a recommendation. Without structured metadata neither is possible, and nor can an advertiser buy against a scene nobody has classified: an asset that cost money to acquire or produce earns nothing on either side.
Manual enrichment is the default because most ingest pipelines were built before AI made automation viable. It is slow, inconsistent across operators and titles, and impossible to retroactively apply to a library of any scale. Bolting on individual tools - a transcription service here, a logo-detection vendor there - creates integration work and still does not produce a unified metadata record per asset.

How it works
- 1A video asset is submitted to the pipeline - either a single file or a batch via the demo interface.
- 2Amazon Bedrock Data Automation analyses the asset in a single pass, running visual scene segmentation, speech-to-text transcription and frame-level object recognition concurrently.
- 3The visual shot structure and the spoken-topic segmentation are fused into one chapter timeline, so a chapter boundary lands where the subject actually changes rather than where the camera cut.
- 4Brands and on-screen text are extracted from the same frames: each logo comes with a bounding box tracked as it moves, a timecode and a confidence score, and burned-in text and captions are read alongside it.
- 5The transcript comes back as segments covering longer passages than a subtitle line and without word-level timing, so it is a document to index and search rather than a caption track to render. Those segments can be translated into the requested languages, which is what the search index needs.
- 6A whole-video summary is generated from the fused transcript and scene analysis, covering the narrative, the people in it and its themes.
- 7The same pass can classify every scene against the IAB advertising taxonomy and flag moderation categories - alcohol, drugs and tobacco, violence, hate symbols and the rest - each with a timecode and a confidence score.
What makes it different
Enrichment pipelines that chain separate services - one for transcription, one for logos, one for chapters - accumulate integration cost and produce outputs that are not aligned to the same timeline. The Content Intelligence Pipeline runs everything in a single Bedrock Data Automation pass, which means the chapter boundaries, the transcript segments and the logo timecodes are all anchored to the same frame-level analysis. Because ad-suitability signals come off that same timeline, a scene can be classified for advertising and checked for sensitive content at the point it is described, rather than by a second vendor running a second pass over the same file.

Content Intelligence Pipeline is ready to pilot. The full enrichment pass - chaptering, logo detection, on-screen text, transcription, translation and summarisation - is built and running against real assets, as the demo on this page demonstrates.
Scene classification against the IAB taxonomy and the moderation categories are available in the engine but are not enabled in this demo, so nothing on this page should be read as a measured result for either. Logo recognition is generic rather than a curated brand catalogue, so low-confidence detections are hidden and the ones that remain carry a confidence score instead of being presented as certainties. Chapter and summary quality follow directly from transcript accuracy and from how rich the visual scene analysis is, and on-screen text extraction works best where the text is clearly legible rather than heavily stylised.
The next step is a pilot against a customer catalogue, so enrichment quality can be measured on the asset types and languages that matter to a specific operator.
